It has been said the number one thing we need the most is validation or recognition. Google defines validation to recognize, establish, or illustrate the worthiness of. What are others saying about validation? Mary Kay Ash, Founder of Mary Kay Cosmetics says, “Pretend that every person you meet has a sign around his or her neck that says, ‘Make Me Feel Important.’ Not only will you succeed in sales, you will succeed in life.” She further says, “Everyone wants to be appreciated, so if you appreciate someone, don’t keep it a secret.” What are some practical ways to honor others? Consider starting with your circle of influence. Write a note of appreciation to someone or call them on the phone and let them know how much you appreciate them. It means so much and yet costs so very little. I can’t think of a better gift that you can give to others. Who are you going to recognize and appreciate today?
