“Do you see a man who excels in his work? He will stand before kings; He will not stand before unknown men.”
Proverbs 22:29 (NKJV)

It was Colin Powell who said, “If you are going to achieve excellence in big things, you develop the habit in little matters. Excellence is not an exception, it is a prevailing attitude.” This is really about perspective. So often we have our focus totally on the big picture and we forget all the little things – details it takes to achieve the big picture. Focus your attention on excelling in the details and you will succeed in the big things. Mario Andretti said, “Desire is the key to motivation, but it’s determination and commitment to an unrelenting pursuit of your goal – a commitment to excellence – that will enable you to attain the success you seek.” The John Maxwell Group said, “Legendary basketball coach Pat Riley defines excellence as ‘The gradual result of always striving to be better.’ Excellent leaders are voracious learners. Since they’re constantly growing, they always have fresh insights to impart to their teammates and new skills to contribute to their organization.” People with a spirit of excellence continuously improve; they make sure to be better tomorrow than they are today.

DECLARATION:
Choose to focus less on the big picture and more on the details that are going to get you there.
