“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily hinders our progress. And let us run with endurance the race that God has set before us. We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, on whom our faith depends from start to finish.”
Hebrew 12:1-2a NLT
One of my least favorite tasks in life is to pull weeds in our flowerbeds. But at the same time, I realize that if I don’t do it, the weeds will take over. This is very similar to your life – if you don’t rid your life of those weights that are encumbering you, they will put a chokehold on your vision and purpose for your life and can eventually keep you from your destiny. Mike Friedrich, one our supporters, recently shared this, “What we tolerate we give permission to exist in our life.” Are there any weeds in your life now that you’re tolerating that are taking your focus off your vision and purpose?
Declaration:
I declare that I will no longer tolerate those things that are weighing me down and I will refocus my thoughts on Jesus, the Author and Perfector of my faith.
