Dan & Sue McNeely, owners of North Creek Roofing in Bothell, were responsible for 10-year old Hunter finding a backpack donation form at his YMCA last year. With money Hunter had saved, he donated 10 backpacks and school supplies ($250) and challenged businesses to do the same this year, thus “The Hunter Challenge” Backpack Drive. Hunter even took our flyers to his neighbors this year and with his 10 was able to get commitments totalling 30 backpacks/supplies!
This year North Creek Roofing had a very visible presence at the 2015 Mill Creek Festival this past weekend as a festival sponsor and promoted our backpack drive. They made a sign with photos of Hunter on it, had a “thermometer” showing the status of our goal for 2000 kids being sponsored, and put our Donation Forms in bags given to people visiting their booth. Thank you, Dan & Sue, for your support! Need a new roof?
Other businesses like Passport Unlimited and Builders Capital are matching donations made by their employees. What will you do?
