The Christmas season brings a lot of joy and laughter, but it can also bring stress, loneliness, and unexpected emotions. It’s normal to feel weighed down by pressures—family, expectations, memories, or even just fatigue. But Jesus reminds us in John 14:27: “Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful.”
Notice the promise here. His peace is not like the temporary comfort the world offers. It steadies your heart even when life feels chaotic. Max Lucado once said, “God loves you just the way you are, but He refuses to leave you that way.” Even in our stress, our mess, and our struggles, God is at work shaping us, holding us, offering rest.
Anne Lamott reminds us, “Almost everything will work again if you unplug it for a few minutes, including you.” Sometimes, God’s peace comes when we simply pause, take a deep breath, and lean into His presence.
So today, give yourself permission to rest. Let go of what you cannot control. Notice the small moments of joy. Let His love and peace surround you. Even amid holiday pressures, His peace can guard your heart and quiet your spirit. You are not alone. Take a breath, whisper a prayer, and feel His presence with you right now.
