“But these things I plan won’t happen right away. Slowly, steadily, surely, the time approaches when the vision will be fulfilled. If it seems slow, do not despair, for these things will surely come to pass. Just be patient! They will not be overdue a single day!”
Habakkuk 2:3 (LB)

Sometimes we’re so impatient, wanting things to happen right away. We wear ourselves out with anxiety and worry. But look at the promise here. “If it seems slow, do not despair, for these things will surely come to pass. Just be patient. They will not be overdue a single day.” Just be patient. John Maxwell says, “When we must wait, we should focus on God’s character, not our circumstances…If we take our eyes off of ourselves and our problems and put them on God and all that He can do and has done for us, we remember to trust Him.” Trust God. Know that He has it and He knows what He’s doing. We struggle with this, don’t we? We don’t like to wait for anything. I like what Joyce Meyer says, “The waiting may be hard, but it will make you stronger. The benefits that patience brings are certainly worth any uncomfortable wait.”
