“Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility consider one another as more important than yourselves; do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others. Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus, who, as He already existed in the form of God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but emptied Himself by taking the form of a bond-servant and being born in the likeness of men.”
Philippians 2:3- NASB

What is one of the biggest deterrents in your life that keeps you from maximizing your potential? I believe it is the “I” in our lives where everything becomes centered on “me” rather than others. Proverbs 11:25 says, “The generous man will be prosperous and he who waters will himself be watered.” Ted Benson said, “Pride is concerned with who is right; humility is concerned with what is right.” And it was Spencer Kimball who said, “Humility is greatness in plain clothing.” Serving others is really the equalizer. It was Martin Luther King who said, “Everybody can be great because anybody can serve. You don’t have to have a college degree to serve. You don’t have to make your subject and verb agree to serve. You only need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love.”

Make this declaration daily:
I will make it my prayer to become more other-centered and less I-centered.

I hope you are in encouraged. Remember this, you were born again to serve. Just as Jesus said, “I come not to be served but to serve and give my life as a ransom for many.” I hope you have an amazing week and remember – God is for you.
