“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”
Galatians 6:9 (NIV)

“Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.”
James 1:12 (NIV)

So many of us are great starters: starters of a project, starters of a race, starters of a business, starters of a book. Ralph Waldo Emerson observed, “The great majority of men are bundles of beginnings.”  What about you? Are you merely a starter? When the enthusiasm for a new idea fades, when the passion cools, when the odds against you increase and the results diminish, when it looks as if success is impossible, will you stay in the game, not give up, never quit? Vince Lombardi said, “Winners never quit, and quitters never win.” Be encouraged, stay in the game. Be a finisher no matter what the circumstances. Remember, greater is He who is in you than he who is in this world.
