“I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth.
My soul will make its boast in the Lord.”
Psalm 34:1-2a NASB

We are constantly surrounded and being bombarded with challenges and circumstances beyond our control. We can so often find ourselves getting anxious and fearful and that leads to a very negative and hopeless attitude. In this Psalm, we are being challenged to break out of that fearful, hopeless attitude and get our focus off ourselves and back on God. Praise Him at all times and in all circumstances. There are obviously times that we have a lot of things going on in our lives that we’re not feeling very praiseworthy about. This is one of those times, with all that is currently going on. The key here is the word feeling. It is at this point that we have a decision to make: to stop letting our feelings control how we respond or what we do, but instead act in faith on what God says we are to do. Philippians 4:4-7 says, “Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice! Let your gentle spirit be known to all men. The Lord is near. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. NASB.”
