“The one who desires life, to love and see good days, must keep his tongue from evil and his lips from speaking deceit.”
1 Peter 3:10 NASB
How many of you over time have been convicted to clean up your miles? God tells us in His Word that the tongue has incredible power. With your tongue you can bring blessing or cursing. The old saying, “Sticks and stones will break my bones, but words can never hurt me,” is the farthest thing from the truth. Words can be very abusive and damaging. Your tongue can be the most difficult thing to control but there is hope. The Bible assures you with the power of your friend and helper, the Holy Spirit, that you can have power and control over your tongue. Ephesians 4:29 (NASB) is great wisdom on how and when to use your tongue. It can also be used as a faith affirmation declaring this over your life often. “I will let no unwholesome word proceed from my mouth, but only such a word as is good for edification according to the needs of the moment, so that it will give grace to those who hear.”
