Did you know that there are schools where 80% to 90% of the children are on free and reduced lunches? Many families are single mothers working multiple jobs to try to provide and care for their children. A special dinner for the holidays is the last thing a family can expect.
In 2018, 588 families were served at Thanksgiving and Christmas (68 meals to hotel dwellers not included in that total) and 398 hot meals were served by The Empowerment Center in Tacoma. Our goal in 2019 is to serve 700 families during the holidays!
