We’re so grateful for the military and all they do to serve us. We asked LTC Brent Fogleman, who comes to our Olympia Leadership Group, to invite some men and women to our luncheon so we can thank them for their service. We can’t include the entire bios of our guests on our luncheon PowerPoint but have done so here.

LTC Brent Fogleman
Originally from Washington, was commissioned from North Carolina State University as a Field Artilleryman. He has served in operational and combat assignments around the world and earned two master degrees during his 22 years on active duty in the US Army.  He is currently a Simulation Operations Officer serving as the Chief of Collective Training at the Mission Training Complex, JBLM.

MAJ (Ret., NLD) Tanja Struyck-Fogleman
Served a 24-year green to gold career in the Royal Netherlands Army, which includes 7 combat deployments and numerous positions in NATO and international headquarters. She is now an advocate in the State legislature regarding military families and veterans, and within the  community for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion. She also volunteers for 2 nonprofit organizations, serves on the Executive Board of one, and is the business & strategic manager for Greater Justice.

LTC (Ret.) Brian de Leon
Retired in 2017 as the Deputy Chief of Staff of 7th Infantry Division, JBLM, after serving over 23 years in the US Army, which included numerous operational and combat assignments. Currently a Digital Solutions Manager for MAXIMUS Federal. Recent strategist for the Defense Health Agency’s Connected Health Branch serving service members, veterans, and their families.

LTC (Ret.) Louann de Leon
Retired in 2017 as the JBLM Garrison Plans Officer after serving over 23 years in the US Army, which included numerous operational and combat assignments. Currently a stay at home mom of two children & serving on the Executive Boards of two non-profit organizations.

 MAJ (Ret.) Michael Johnson
Retired in 2006 from I CORPS G3, Training and Exercises, after 28 years of combined service. Works as a volunteer in ministry for Advance Trauma Recovery and Inner Healing for Moral Injuries. Serves as the area coordinator and facilitator trainer for the REBOOT Combat Trauma Recovery Course in the Puget Sound Area. Founder and Director of Depot Ministries, and partners with his wife Elizabeth,  Founder and Director of Aurora Worldwide for Inner Healing Ministries and Mentor Development. Currently enrolled in the Doctorate of Strategic Leadership Development at Faith International University in Tacoma.

SFC Justin Boardman
14 years on active duty in the US Army which include 4 combat deployments and 8 overseas deployments.  Currently serves as a Senior Special Forces Communications Sergeant at 1st Special Forces Group, JBLM. He is a national board member and national pro staff manager of a 501c3 non profit, The Fallen Outdoors, where we take veterans and active duty service members hunting and fishing nationwide at no cost to them.

SFC(P) Petra Salazar
22 years on active duty in the US Army that include numerous operational and combat assignments. Currently serving as the Information Chief at America’s First Corps, JBLM.

Chaplain John von Almen
Is an Air Force Lieutenant Colonel who has served 18 years Active Duty Air Force and 20 years combined service. He is the Wing Chaplain and Deputy Joint Base Chaplain at JBLM.

SFC (Ret.) Ronald Letendre
Retired in 2010 after a 20-year career in the US Army. He currently works with veterans and civilians in recovery from PTSD and addictions.
