“A thousand may fall at your side and ten thousand at your right hand, but it shall not approach you.”
Psalm 91:7 NASB
When my children were small, I would come home from work and they were always there to meet me at the door, saying, “Daddy, Daddy, Daddy.” I can remember the many times they would climb into my lap and seem perfectly content because they were in their daddy‘s lap. That is what we need to be: perfectly content sitting in our Heavenly Father’s lap, focusing on our Father. In our Father’s lap there is rest. In our Father’s lap there is security and protection. In our Father’s lap there is healing and hope that today will be better than yesterday. In our Father’s lap there is love with no strings attached, no conditions. Our Father just loves us, and there is nothing that we can do that will make our Daddy love us any less or any more. He just loves us and keeps on loving us. You see, He doesn’t want to be a stranger to us; He wants to be personal. This reflects total dependency on Him. “Father, I need you, I’m in this big world out here, and I feel so lonely. I don’t know what to do. Dad, I need you.”
