“Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others betters than himself. Let each of you look out not only for his own interest, but also for the interest of others.”
Philippians 2:3-4 NKJV
We don’t naturally regard others more important than ourselves and look to their interests. So how do you know that? Well, how’s it going with your driving lately? Someone needs to get into traffic and yet, if you let them in, you’ll probably miss the light and that red light is the longest in the county and you are surely going to be late to work. Or how about this one? I love steak with the bone in it because I like to chew on the bone. When my kids were growing up, they all liked the bone, too. One day I was given the only steak with the bone. Do you think I humbled myself enough to share that bone? Check your heart. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you to be diligent in guarding your heart from pride and selfishness.
