“Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the Shadow of the Almighty. This I declare about the Lord: He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; He is my God, and I trust Him. For He will rescue you from every trap and protect you from deadly disease. He will cover you with His feathers. He will shelter you with His wings. His faithful promises are your armor and protection.”
Psalm 91:1-4 NLT
When it seems like your life is on a treadmill and it keeps going faster and faster and circumstances are as bewildering as a three-alarm fire, there are several options to choose how you respond.
You can do just the opposite of Proverbs 3:5 which says, “Lean on your own strength and understanding.” Or you can choose to bury yourself in being busy, ignoring circumstances and problems, hoping they will go away. There is a third option. You can choose to call upon the Lord because He is your shelter, He is your rest, He is your refuge and place of safety, He is your rescuer, He is your protector, He is your defender and He promises to never leave you or forsake you.
Reflection: Take a few minutes just to reflect on how well you are doing in responding.
