“Believers who are poor have something to boast about, for God has honored them.”
James 1:9 (NLT)
How does He honor them?
“For he has not ignored or belittled the suffering of the needy.
He has not turned his back on them,
but has listened to their cries for help.”
Psalms 22:24 (NLT)
First of all, He does not ignore their need, their suffering. Secondly, He has listened to their cries for help. And thirdly, He answers their cry for help through each of us. Isaiah 58:7 (NLT) says, “Share your food with the hungry, and give shelter to the homeless. Give clothes to those who need them, and do not hide from relatives who need your help.” How are you going to hear those cries? You need daily to be tuned into the Holy Spirit because I believe the cries of the poor can get into your spirit before they get into your soul (mind, will and emotions). This is why you have to be tuned into the Father or you will never hear the cries of the poor.
