“For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve,
and to give his life as a ransom.”
Mark 10:45 NASB
There are two keywords in this scripture verse – serve and give. We have heard many of our volunteers say, “When I got involved in volunteering, I was thinking that I was going to help change a lot of people but instead the one that got changed the most was me.” Winston Churchill said, “You make a living by what you get, you make a life by what you give.” And G. Donald Gale said, “A pessimist, they say, sees a glass of water half empty; an optimist sees the same glass as half full. But a giving person sees a glass of water and starts looking for someone who might be thirsty.” Are you a pessimist, an optimist or a giving person?
