“But I have prayed for you, that your faith may not fail.”
Luke 22:32a (NASB)
We have all been through struggles and storms but this one seems to be one of those storms that looks like it will never end. I am praying that your faith in this prolonged storm will not cave in. You will not give up. You will have staying power, fortitude and courageous faith. This word “fortitude” means “strength of mind that enables one to endure adversity with courage” and the word “courage” is defined in Wikipedia as follows: “Courage, also known as bravery, will, intrepidity, and fortitude, is the ability to confront fear, pain, risk/danger, uncertainty, or intimidation.”
Psalm 138:7-8 (NASB) tells us, “Though I walk in the midst of trouble, You will revive me; You will stretch forth Your hand against the wrath of my enemies, and Your right hand will save me. The LORD will accomplish what concerns me; Your loving kindness, O LORD, is everlasting; do not forsake the works of Your hands.” The Message Bible reads. ”When I walk into the thick of trouble, keep me alive in the angry turmoil. With one hand strike my foes, with your other hand save me. Finish what you started in me, GOD. Your love is eternal — don’t quit on me now.” Be assured that the Lord does not quit on us. Romans 8:28 (NASB) says, “And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.”
