He is telling wrestlers about the reality of a personal God
who cares about every aspect of their lives

Growing up in Federal Way, WA, Darren Faber struggled with how his faith in Jesus Christ had any tie to his love for sports.  It wasn’t until Darren started coming to Reality Sports (RS – the newest LRF non-profit partner) wrestling training as a ninth grader in 2007 that he realized is faith was not separate from or in conflict with his passion for wresting.

“Reality Sports taught me how to integrate my faith into my sport.  My walk with Jesus became much more than just a ‘Sunday’ faith.  It was for every aspect of my life, including wrestling, and it changed my life.”
Thanks to you, Reality Sports coaches were able to walk with Darren, studying the Bible and memorizing Scripture together.  He began praying specifically for his teammates, opponents, and even the referees.  Darren realized that if Jesus was his Lord, then he was to be Lord over every area of his life.
WALKING WITH DARREN THROUGH HIS COLLEGE YEARS
Darren made it to the state wrestling finals as a senior and went on to a stellar collegiate career, earning All-American honors in junior college before twice qualifying for the NCAA Division III Nationals for Wheaton College in Illinois.
During his college days, Darren would come back to help at the RS Summer Wrestling Camp each July, sharing not only his vast knowledge of the sport but also his testimony of what Jesus had done in his life.
This past October God brought Darren back to Washington and he again began working with RS wrestlers.  He had the opportunity to share the good news of Jesus Christ with wrestlers from all over the area, including those from his alma mater at the RS fall preseason training.
Darren is walking with wrestlers sharing the same message that turned his own life upside down.  One believing high school wrestler recently admitted to Darren that he had never considered how he could bring the Kingdom of God into his own wrestling, much less to his teammates at school.
With a philosophy degree in hand and a deep passion for Jesus and wrestling, Darren is sharing the reality of a personal God with wrestlers from around the south Puget Sound region.  Your support makes this a reality!
