“But as for you, be strong and courageous, for your work will be rewarded.”
II Chronicles 15:7 NLT
It has been said, “The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.” And Benjamin Mayes said, “It is not a calamity to die with dreams unfulfilled but it is a calamity not to dream.” The world is filled with dream crushers and idea killers. Why? Some people without dreams of their own hate to see others pursuing theirs.
Perhaps others have dragged you down in your life. Perhaps you have been discouraged from dreaming. John Maxwell said, “Take heart – it’s never too late to start dreaming and pursuing your dreams.” He quotes Dale Turner as saying, “Dreams are renewable. No matter what our age or condition, there are still untapped possibilities within us and new beauty waiting to be born.”
There are 3 things that will help you in believing in your dream:
- Have faith for your dream: “Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.” Hebrews 11:1 (NASB)
- Have expectation for your dream: “Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.” Ephesians 3:20-21 (NKJV)
- Write and speak your dream: “Write the vision and make it plain on tablets, that he may run who reads it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time; but at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.” Habakkuk 2:2-3 (NKJV)
