“And He said, ‘My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.’”

Exodus 33:14 NKJV

We live in such a fast paced environment.  You may feel at times like your life is on a

merry go round that is spinning faster and faster and you just need to get off and get some rest.  In His presence there is rest.  In His presence there is the fullness of joy.  In His presence there is peace.  In His presence there is provision.  In His presence there is victory – no mountain too high, no road too difficult.

Psalm 16:11 KJV says, “You will show me the path of life: in thy presence is fullness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.”  And Psalms 42:1 NASB says, “As the deer pants for the water brooks, so pants my soul for you, O God.”

Deuteronomy 4;29 tells us that God reveals Himself to those that earnestly seek Him.  If you want to walk in the presence of the Lord, then you need to be practicing the presence of God.  “One of the major ways we can do this is through worship.  By placing ourselves before Him in a place of adoration, we make room for Him, and through focusing our attention on Him, increase our awareness of being in the Presence of God in our lives.  Learning how to soak in God’s presence through worship is one of the most valuable things we can do with our time.  God has promised that as we draw near to Him, He will draw near to us and we will experience Him with us in ever increasing measures.”  Ray Watson, The Secret Place.

Lord, help me to be more disciplined, soaking in Your presence, and not allow

those things that seem so urgent to crowd out the important things in my life.
