“A joyful heart is good medicine…”

Proverbs 17:22a (NASB)

Have you ever looked at yourself in a mirror when you’re grumpy?  You should try it sometime.  You just might want to notify your face and say, “Face, cheer up.  It could be a lot worse.”  If you are one of those grumpy, crotchety Christians, your heart and mind are probably out of whack, influenced by this world’s way of thinking and all of its negative conversations.  You may also be dwelling on your problems and circumstances.

Whereas, God’s Word reminds us that we are to, “Rejoice always; pray without ceasing; in everything give thanks; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus,” 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 (NASB), and in Proverbs 15:13 (NASB) it says, “A joyful heart makes a cheerful face.”   When you have a joyful heart it’s contagious.  People can see it all over you and it’s good medicine and good medicine leads to good healing.

DECLARATION:

I declare that I will choose daily to rejoice always,

pray continually and give thanks in all circumstances.
