New Horizons brand new EXALT program (Experience, Attain and Lead Together) provides youth with paid job training, life skills and the supportive relationships necessary to successfully exit homelessness.
EXALT builds on two important ministries that have long been part of the fabric of New Horizons: mentorship and job training.  With added structure and intention, EXALT helps elevate these ministries and achieve tangible results for youth:
Experience:  Youth receive six months of intensive job training in one of four Apprentice positions – Street Bean, Peer Outreach, Facilities and Administrative.
Attain:  Youth gain financial footing as they earn a weekly stipend and learn financial literacy and other life skills through the Leadership Institute, a 12-week course.
Lead:  Youth apply new skills and strengths as they take on increasing responsibility.
Together:  Youth work on goals with their case manager and build a healthy, caring relationship with a mentor.
The first two EXALT apprentices started their positions in January and all four positions will be up and running by July.  NHM is excited to see how this program transforms the lives of their youth and our community.  Please join us in praying for these young people throughout this process and beyond.
