“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily hinders our progress.  And let us run with endurance the race that God has set before us.  We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, on whom our faith depends from start to finish.”  (NLT)

Hebrew 12:1-2a

One of my least favorite tasks in life has been to pull out weeds in our flowerbed knowing at the same time that if I don’t do it, the weeds will take over.  This is very similar to our own lives.  If I don’t rid my life of those weights that are encumbering me, they will put a chokehold on my vision and purpose for my life and can eventually keep me from my destiny.  Mike Friedrich, one our Founders, recently said, “What we tolerate, we give permission to exist in our life.”  Are there any weeds in your life now that you’re tolerating that are keeping you from your vision and purpose?

DECLARATION:

I declare that I will no longer tolerate those things that are weighing me down and I will refocus my thoughts on Jesus, the Author and Perfector of my faith.
