Liberty Road Foundation and its non-profit partner, Olive Crest, are working to preserve families, prevent child abuse and provide education for at-risk children. Together they are collecting donated snacks of individually wrapped and non-perishable foods or drinks. The LRF Snack Drive runs February 1st – April 1st and provides real comfort to kids in crisis situations.
Olive Crest’s Safe Families for Children Coordinator Nicole Aguilar shares her moving story of how this organization comes to the aid of young kids with too few options. Nicole says, “Through Safe Families for Children, I was able to spend some time yesterday with a precious 2 year old little girl. She was removed from her biological mother due to the mother’s heroin relapse. I’m suspecting she was removed from the home in the middle of the night, possibly during a drug raid, because the only possession she came with was the nightgown she was wearing. Due to the generosity of our donors, I was able to pull together a backpack of things to call her own- including socks/clothes, a teddy bear, and a children’s Bible.
This case is unique for us because we were able to provide Child Protective Services a “Third Option”. Although her dad is “fit and able” to care for his little girl, he is currently in a transitional living program that does not allow children. By providing a safe place for her to stay for 1-2 months while dad finds family housing, we are keeping this little girl out of foster care and giving the family a chance to stay together.”

Another one of our non-profit partners, Jubilee REACH Center, is a needs-based, volunteer powered organization. They build relationships by taking time to love, listen and learn; earning the trust to hear the deeper needs then stepping in the gap with Relationships, Education, Assistance, Community and Hospitality.
This organization is equally in need of non-perishable food items that support the community they serve. Your donated snacks can be delivered to Jubilee REACH Center’s office located at 14200 SE 13th Place, Bellevue, WA 98007. Please consider a gift of fruit snacks, granola bars, canned soup, pasta, frozen meats, paper products, dish soap.
