“Be strong and courageous, for you are the one who will lead these people to possess all the land I swore to their ancestors I would give them. Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the instructions Moses gave you. Do not deviate from them, turning either to the right or to the left. Then you will be successful in everything you do. Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do. This is my command – be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged.
For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” (NLT)
Joshua 1:6-9
Here the Father is encouraging Joshua to be of good courage and stand strong against what seems to be insurmountable odds. He was faced with a land of giants. His assignments lead the Nation of Israel. Immense pressure, wouldn’t you say? But Joshua did not cave into the fears and anxiety of the size of his enemy. Instead, he moved forward in confidence, staying true to the course that God had set him on. How are you doing with the giants you face? Be encouraged by His Word, “Be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged.” Stay on course for the Lord is with you and He will not fail you. “Trust in the Lord, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him,
and He will direct your paths.” (NKJV) Proverbs 3:5-6
DECLARATION: I will trust in You, Lord, and not lean on my own understanding and in all my ways I will acknowledge You and You will direct my paths and keep me strong and courageous.
