“My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me and to accomplish His work.” (NASB)
John 4:34
Jesus had a clear-cut vision of His purpose. One of the major things that can keep us from having success is the rabbit trail we can get off on. Have you ever noticed a rabbit when it runs? They very seldom run in a straight line, usually darting from side to side. Our life can be similar where we may be going straight ahead for a while and then get sidetracked. Perhaps we think the grass looks greener on the other side of the fence or we get all caught up in this thing called procrastination. “I am going to get around to it tomorrow.”
What will help? Have a clear-cut understanding of your purpose. Why you are doing what you are doing and where are you headed? Then set some goals that are measurable and accomplishable. Goals are great for many reasons but one of the main reasons we set goals is to hold us accountable to the task at hand. This will help to keep you on track.
