HAVE YOU HAD A HEART CHECKUP LATELY?

Death and life are in the power of the tongue,
And those who love it will eat its fruit.

Proverbs 18:21 NASB

It has been said, “Your words precede your miracle.”  Charles Capp says, “Words are containers.  They carry faith or fear and they produce after their kind.”  Whatever is in your heart will determine what you say.  Luke 6:45 NKJV says, “A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heartbrings forth evil. For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.”

Check out your heart.  What have you been putting into it lately?  The books you read, the movies you watch, the people you hang with and the thoughts you think all affect your heart, which in turn affects what you say.  Proverbs 4:23 NASB says, “Watch over your heart with all diligence, forfrom it flow the springs of life.”  And in The Message Bible, Proverbs 4:23-27 says, “Keep vigilant watch over your heart; that’s where life starts.  Don’t talk out of both sides of your mouth; avoid careless banter, white lies, and gossip.  Keep your eyes straight ahead; ignore all sideshow distractions.  Watch your step, and the road will stretch out smooth before you.
Look neither right nor left; leave evil in the dust.”
