Jesus was going through all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom, healing every kind of disease and every kind of sickness. Seeing the people, He felt compassion for them, because they were distressed and dispirited like sheep without a shepherd. Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Therefore beseech the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into His harvest.”

It has been said that the three things that people need the most are: the need to belong, the need to feel safe and the need to be loved. When Jesus looked at the crowds that day, saw their distress, and was moved with compassion – it literally means His heart broke for those in need. His heart does break for us and He does meet our needs but be careful that you do not grow content in this and fail to recognize that the crowd is all around you and you are challenged to be those workers bringing hope and love into others lives.
DECLARATION:
Oh, God, wake me up from my contentment that my heart would break for those who need to feel safe, who need to belong and who need to feel loved. God, help me to be that worker of your HOPE.
