Getting to know Jake Locker

Jake grew up in Ferndale WA. He always enjoyed playing sports and was always surrounded by a big loving family. Football grew to be his favorite sport. He led the 2005 Ferndale High School to a 14–0 record and a state title, throwing for 1,603 yards and 25 touchdown passes for the season with only 3 interceptions. Locker was an excellent running quarterback, as he also rushed for 1,339 yards and 24 touchdowns during his senior year. He was also named the 3A state player of the year by the AP and Seattle Times and earned First-team All-state honors from both organizations.

Jake was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to play collegiately at the UW. As a senior at the UW in 2010, Jake completed 184 of 332 passes for 2,265 yards with 17 touchdowns.  He avenged a 0-12 season in 2008, by leading the Huskies to a bowl game for the first time since 2002. Jake was very involved with charitable endeavors while at Washington and volunteered a lot of his time at local children’s hospitals. He started a foundation with teammates called “Touchdowns for Kids” that benefitted youth hospitals.

Jake was drafted by the Tennessee Titans overall in the 2011 NFL Draft. As a rookie in 2011 with the Tennessee Titans, he appeared in five games as a reserve and completed 34 of 66 passes for 542 yards with four touchdowns and no interceptions.

In college Jake met his wife Lauren and they were married in 2011. They have four children Colbie, Cooper, Colt and Cade. After their first year in TN, both Jake and Lauren were saved and baptized. They are now back in Ferndale seeking the love of the father and chasing their children.
