11th Annual “Invest In a Kid” Backpack Drive

Many kids in our area live in extreme poverty

Some schools in our community report 70% of students receive free lunch. Many people work multiple jobs to provide for their families. In our area of continually rising cost of living, the $65 – $100 for a new backpack and school supplies is more than difficult, as many families have to spend increasing more than ever before on just housing and food.

The impact to the child who receives these is immediate

They feel more confident and prepared, which can improve their academic results. Receiving a backpack filled with school supplies makes a world of difference to each child and their parents.

2014, over 1,000 kids were helped
2015, over 2,200 kids were helped
2016, nearly 3,000 kids were helped
2017, nearly 5,400 kids were helped
2018, over 6,000 kids were helped
2019, over 5,800 kids were helped
2020, over 4,500 kids were helped
2021, over 5,369 kids were helped
2022, over 5,000 kids were helped
2023, over 5,000 kids were helped

Let’s help over 7,000 kids receive backpacks filled with school supplies

Supporters like you, from Bellngham to Olympia, have come together since 2014 to provide backpacks and school supplies for children in need. Some businesses are matching employee donations. Ultimately, the goal is no child goes without!
