“Lord, how many are my foes! How many rise up against me!

…But you, Lord, are a shield around me, my glory, the One who lifts my head high.

I call out to the Lord, and He answers me from His holy mountain.”

Psalm 3:1, 3-4 (NIV)

Here David is faced with a very difficult situation. He was no doubt feeling very overwhelmed, heart broken and betrayed. Perhaps you have had times when you felt this way. Notice that David didn’t dwell on his pain and talk about his problems and get into what we call self pity trips. Instead he told the Lord about his faith when he said, “But You Lord are a shield around me.” You may be going through some stuff right now. But God, if You be for me who can be against me?  But God, You are my Healer.   But God, You are my Provider. But God, you are my Comforter, my Counselor. It’s all about Him and with Him nothing is impossible.
