Martin Barrett, Co-Founder of Sozo Friends, has had the honor of being part of small and mid-sized businesses and nonpro?ts. His experiences with them, his re?ection on scripture, the life of Jesus, great leaders and in?uencers, and reading and thoughtful observation have shaped his worldview. In all of these experiences, Martin has found his heart for the poor, the oppressed and the outcast. He has also found that the best solution to poverty is a strong spiritual basis where values based on grace and truth are formed and loving your neighbor as yourself becomes the paradigm for action. He is also convinced that free markets are the best economic system devised by man to minimize poverty. Sozo Friends is the expression of this worldview – a for-pro?t business whose
end purpose is to ” Facilitate Community and Funding Around Friends Who Meet Basic Human Needs.” Sozo Friends does this by helping generous businesses build their brand by including their customers and associates in acts of generosity and thanks. As they do this they become more pro?table, more in?uential and therefore able to expand their generosity. Martin served 14 years on Young Life’s staff, 7 as a full time volunteer. He has been in the for-pro?t world for 24 years serving as Co-Founder of Sozo Friends, as President of Cana’s Feast Winery and in the Of?ce of the President at Supra Group. Martin has been married to Beth since 1979 and they have three children. Liberty Road Foundation has received a total of $11,291.77 since September 2014 from None Will Perish Foundation, the non-pro?t side of Sozo Friends. This represents 10% of their sales to customers who have selected LRF as their charity of choice.
