“For I know the plans that I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope.”
Jeremiah 29:11 (NASB)
Have you noticed how many people you see every day who look tired—not just physically, but deep inside? People who aren’t necessarily angry… just worn down. People who have stopped expecting good things because disappointment feels safer than hope.
Hope deferred does that. Fear feeds on it. And before long, people don’t just face hardship—they expect it. But hear this clearly today: God never designed you to live in survival mode. Fear may explain how you feel—but it does not get to define who you are or where you’re going.
God speaks directly into moments like this when He says He has plans for you—plans not for harm, not for defeat, not for collapse—but for a future and a hope. That means even if you can’t see the way forward, God already does.
And here’s something important: Hope doesn’t begin when circumstances change. Hope begins when perspective changes. The enemy wants you to believe that what you see is all there is. God reminds us that what He has promised is greater than what we’re facing. 2 Timothy 1:7 (NASB) says, “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and love and discipline.” Fear is not from God. Power is. Love is. A sound, steady mind is.
So if fear has been loud lately, that’s your cue—not to retreat—but to remember who lives within you. You may feel weak, but you are not powerless. You may feel uncertain, but you are not abandoned. You may feel surrounded, but you are not finished. God is still writing your story—and this chapter is not the conclusion.
So lift your eyes today. Take one step forward. And let hope rise again—not because life is easy, but because God is faithful. And He always finishes what He starts.
