“When I am afraid, I will put my trust in You. In God, whose word I praise, in God I have put my trust; I shall not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?”
Psalm 56:3–4 (NASB)

We live in a time when fear and anxiety press in on every side with uncertainty in our finances, in our health, and even in our relationships. But friend, fear is not the final word, hope is. David, in Psalm 56, was surrounded by enemies and yet declared, “When I am afraid, I will put my trust in You.” He didn’t deny his fear. He redirected it. He looked fear in the face and chose to place his trust in a God who never fails.

Corrie ten Boom, who hid Jews during the Holocaust and later survived a concentration camp, once said: “Never be afraid to trust an unknown future to a known God.” What a powerful reminder. We may not know what tomorrow holds, but we know Who holds tomorrow. Hope is not wishful thinking—it’s a confident expectation in the goodness of God. When anxiety whispers lies to your soul, hope speaks the truth louder: God is with you. He is for you. He is greater than whatever you’re facing.

Action Step:
Today, name your fear. Speak it out loud if you need to. Then do what David did—put your trust in God. Open His Word, declare His promise: “Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be afraid, for I am your God. I will strengthen you; I will also help you, I will also uphold you with My righteous right hand. Isaiah 41 :10 (NASB).” Then let the peace of Christ rule in your heart. You are not alone. Hope is here. And His name is Jesus.
