“My eyes are continually toward the Lord, for He will rescue my feet from the net.”
Psalm 25:15 (NASB)

Life throws storms our way—disappointments, delays, uncertainty. And when the winds pick up, it’s easy to lock eyes on the waves. But David gives us the key in Psalm 25: “My eyes are continually toward the Lord, for He will rescue my feet from the net.” David wasn’t exempt from trouble—but he knew where to look. His focus wasn’t on the trap, it was on the Rescuer.

Peter experienced this firsthand. He walked on water in the middle of a storm, an absolute miracle. But the moment he looked at the wind and waves instead of Jesus, he began to sink. The storm didn’t change—his focus did. Joel Osteen puts it this way: “You may feel overwhelmed, but God is still in control. Keep your focus on Him, and He will guide you to victory.”

That’s the heart of stormproof focus—looking beyond what’s shaking and locking onto the One who never moves. John Piper adds, “God is most glorified in us when we are most satisfied in Him.” And that satisfaction grows as we turn our eyes from the problem to the Provider.

Action Step:
This week, take five minutes each day to lift your eyes to God. Pray. Read a verse. Whisper His name. Let your first focus be on Him. The storm might still swirl, but your heart will stand steady. Fix your eyes on Jesus—that’s Stormproof Focus.
