Every business exists to provide value, but as a Christian business leader, your business should do more than just make money. It should make a difference. Jesus said in Matthew 6:33 (NASB1995), “But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” This doesn’t mean that you ignore business fundamentals, but it does mean you should operate with a higher mission: to create opportunities for others, to serve people with excellence, and to be a reflection of God’s goodness in the marketplace.

Think of your business as a tool in God’s hands. He wants to use it to bless you and others. Here are two perspectives on aligning business with God’s purpose:

  1. John Maxwell: “Success is when I add value to myself. Significance is when I add value to others.” Aligning business with God’s purpose means focusing on impact, not just profit.
  2. Rick Warren: “The purpose of influence is to speak up for those who have no influence. A God-centered business uses its resources to serve others and advance His kingdom.”

Action Step:
Ask yourself, “Does my business reflect God’s purpose? If not, how can I refine my mission to align with Kingdom values?”
