“So teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.”
Psalm 90:12 (NKJV)

As we approach the end of the end of 2024, it’s a perfect time to pause and reflect on God’s faithfulness. In Psalm 90:12, we’re reminded to “number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.” Let’s take this moment to look back with gratitude for His provision, guidance, and grace in every season—both the highs and the challenges. But ending the year well isn’t just about reflection; it’s also about finishing strong. Joel Osteen emphasizes the power of a positive mindset and gratitude. He encourages individuals to release past disappointments and embrace the future with hope and faith. Osteen advises, “Life is flying by. You don’t have time to waste another minute being negative, offended or bitter. If someone did you wrong, get over it and move forward.” This perspective encourages us to let go of past grievances to make room for new opportunities.

Ask yourself: “What has God called me to do this year that I haven’t finished yet?” Whether it’s reconciling a relationship, serving someone in need, or drawing closer to Him, there’s still time to honor God in these final days.

And as we step into the new year, let’s align our hearts with His purpose. Max Lucado says this about purpose: “Commit to His plans, not just resolutions. End this year with a spirit of thanksgiving and begin the next with faith, knowing that ‘He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion’ (Philippians 1:6).” Let’s finish well, to His glory.
