“And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.”
Philippians 1:6 (NLT)
It’s a good work. Look at God. Look at what He’s been doing in your life. You have a testimony to share about the goodness of God. David cried out and the Lord heard him and drew him up out of his miry bog and put a new song in his heart – a song of praise that all may come and hear and give praise to God. Look at God. He lifted you up and turned your mess into a message. Look at God. He is your savior, He is your forgiver, He is your healer, He is your protector, He is your provider, He is your director. Look what God has been doing in your life.
There’s an old hymn that says, “Count your blessings, name them one by one. Count your blessings, see what God has done.”
Here are a few scriptures that you can dwell on concerning the goodness of God:
“Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever.”
1 Chronicles 16:34
“Good and upright is the Lord.”
Psalm 25:8
“Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.”
Psalm 23:6
“The Lord is good to all, and His tender mercies are over all His works.”
Psalm 145:9
