”Now that we know what we have — Jesus, this great High Priest with ready access to God —let’s not let it slip through our fingers. We don’t have a priest who is out of touch with our reality. He’s been through weakness and testing, experienced it all — all but the sin. So let’s walk right up to Him and get what He is so ready to give. Take the mercy, accept the help.”
Hebrews 4:14-16 (MSG)

Here’s a question for all of us to ponder. Do we really realize how powerful prayer is? I know we say it, we read books about it, we tell others about it, but what about us in our daily lives? We need to realize that it all rests on the cross. So, focus your attention there. It’s because of the cross that we have access to our Father.

It’s about access to God. Did you hear that? It’s about access to God. At the bedside when your children are sick, access. When the bills come in and there’s not enough money, access. When that job doesn’t seem to be coming through quickly, access. For those doors that we’re calling out to God to open and for those breakthroughs to come, access. Access to His throne room. Every question answered, every need met, and every heart calmed. Access. Access.
