“Do you see a man who excels in his work? He will stand before kings; He will not stand before unknown men.”
Proverbs 22:29 (NKJV)

It was Colin Powell, who said, “If you’re going to achieve excellence in big things, you develop the habit in little matters. Excellence is not an exception; it is a prevailing attitude.” This is really about perspective. So often we have our focus totally on the big picture and we forget all the little things, the details it takes to achieve the big picture. Vincent Van Gogh said, “Great things are not done by impulse, but by a series of small things brought together.” Focus your attention on excelling in the details, and you will succeed in the big things.

Starting today, I will take one day at a time and focus my attention on the little matters.
