“Lord, my heart is not proud, nor my eyes arrogant; nor do I involve myself in great matters, or in things too difficult for me. I have certainly soothed and quieted my soul; like a weaned child resting against his mother, my soul within me is like a weaned child.”
Psalm 131:1-2 (NASB)

Do you ever feel like you lack peace in your life? Instead, you feel unrest and a lack of contentment. Here In Psalm 131:1-2, David is expressing his childlike trust in the Lord. It is a childlike faith that brings real contentment, like a small child feels when he jumps from the edge of a pool or the edge of a car seat into his daddy’s arms, trusting completely that his daddy will catch him. It is with this childlike faith that you will find contentment and be set free from self, seeking, and excessive world ambition.

Let your prayer be something like this. Lord, help me to be more childlike in my faith, that I may have that same trust that in your arms there is security and safety, in your arms there is rest, peace, and contentment.
