Several years ago, a very good friend of mine gave me some of the best advice I could have ever been given. He told me that I should focus my life on being FAT for God. Faithful, Available, and Teachable, and leave the rest up to God.

Faithful:
Use the skills and giftings God has given you and do the things He’s called you to do, so the Lord would say to you, “Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your Lord. Matthew 25:23 (NKJV).”

Available:
Be ready at all times to do what God has called you to do. In other words, “Here I am, Lord, mold me, shape me, fill me, use me.” I would particularly like to draw your attention to the following. Isaiah 6:8 (NASB) says, “Then I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, ‘Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?’ Then I said, ‘Here am I. Send me!’”

Teachable:
Surround yourself with people who are full of wisdom, knowledge, and understanding. As Proverbs 19:20 (NASB) tells us, “Listen to counsel and accept discipline, that you may be wise the rest of your days.”
