Jesus came to planet earth to serve and give. Ken Blanchard in his book, “The Generosity Factor,” asks 3 questions.

  1. Does every child in America and around the world go to bed with a full stomach and a loving hug from someone who cares?
  2. Is all the possible research being done to cure devastating diseases?
  3. Do the homeless have a warm place to rest their heads at night?

He also says, “Pat answers have never solved the problem. What it does take is dedicated people, devoted time, and donated dollars to solve problems.” We need to listen to the Father’s heart and then act upon it.

Deuteronomy 15:11 (NKJV): “For the poor will never cease from the land; therefore I command you, saying, ‘You shall open your hand wide to your brother, to your poor and your needy, in your land.’”

Proverbs 21:13 (NKJV): “Whoever shuts his ears to the cry of the poor will also cry himself and not be heard.”

Psalm 22:24 (NLT): “For He has not ignored or belittled the suffering of the needy. He has not turned His back on them, but has listened to their cries for help.”

Proverbs 22:9 (NLT): “Blessed are those who are generous, because they feed the poor.”

Proverbs 19:17 (NLT): “If you help the poor, you are lending to the Lord—and He will repay you!”

Proverbs 28:27 (NLT): “Whoever gives to the poor will lack nothing, but those who close their eyes to poverty will be cursed.”

Challenge to Action: Read and meditate on Isaiah 58:6-12 and ask the Lord, “WHAT WILL YOU HAVE ME DO?”
