“Therefore, encourage one another and build one another up, just as you also are doing.”
1 Thessalonians 5:11 (NASB)

The word encourage means to give support, confidence, or hope to someone. Different synonyms are cheer, uplift, inspire, motivate, stir up, invigorate, and rally. As Joel Osteen says, “Encouragement to others is something everyone can give. Somebody needs what you have to give. It may not be money but it may be your time. It may be your listening ears. It may be your arms to encourage. It may be your smile to uplift. Who knows?” Who knows what will happen when you sow those seeds of cheer into someone else’s life? Who knows?” Max Lucado says, “So take a moment and think about the blessings in your life and consider what one thing you can do today to encourage others. If we all did our part. the result would be like the ever-expanding ripple effect from dropping a small pebble into a body of water. The sphere of influence of our combined actions could increase incrementally and spread throughout the world.”
