“Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice!”
Philippians 4:4 (NKJV)
It just seems a whole lot easier to rejoice when everything is going along smoothly. Business is growing, bills are being paid, accounts receivable are coming in, new contracts are being written, and everything at home is looking good. But the real challenge is to rejoice in the Lord at all times, no matter what the circumstances are. Rejoice at all times.
- In the valleys, He is with us: “Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.” Psalm 23:4 (NASB)
- In need, He is with us. “Though the fig tree should not blossom and there be no fruit on the vines. Though the yield of the olive should fail and the fields produce no food. Though the flock should be cut off from the fold and there be no cattle in the stalls. Yet I will exalt in the Lord, I will rejoice in the God of my salvation.”Habakkuk 3:17-18 (NASB)
- In our weakness, He’s with us. “Therefore I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in distresses, in persecutions, in difficulties, in behalf of Christ; for when I am weak, then I am strong.” 2 Corinthians 12:10 (NASB)
- In all things, He is with us. “And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.” Romans 8:28 (NASB)
