“On that day, when evening came, He said to them, ‘Let’s go over to the other side.’”
Mark 4:35 (NASB)

“For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus.”
Philippians 1:6 (NASB)

God is at work in you. It is out of your experiences, pitfalls, struggles, and pain that you can identify and have compassion for others in their pain. I think of you and me as bridges of healing to the heart. What does a bridge do? You can’t get to other side without it. Now in this case it was a boat. Jesus is telling His disciples, “I want you to get in the boat with me because we’re going to the other side.” What they were about to encounter on the other side was a demonic who was in desperate need of transformation. Each of you are those vessels that God wants to use to bring transformation to someone else. Look at what God has been doing in your life. Look at the years of wisdom and experience that He has poured into you. God never does anything with the idea of wasting it or putting it on a shelf. Be reminded of 2 Corinthians 1:3-4, “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction so that we will be able to comfort those who are in any affliction with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.” We are forever being challenged to remain on the playing field of life and to be that vessel that God will use to bring transformation into the lives of others.
