“So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”
Matthew 6:34 (NASB)
This can be a tough call, especially if you’ve been hurt a lot in relationships or you’re the type of person that needs to have his whole month planned out ahead of time and you need to be in control, but Jesus says, “Trust me one day at a time.” I know it’s not always easy. There are so many things to distract you from his presence, like worry, fear, and discouragement. I’ve heard people say, “I’m trying to stay as calm as possible and focus on one day at a time, but when reality sets in, I’m hit with every emotion you can think of: anxiety, excitement, pressure, joy.” Now this might be you but it’s really about choice. God says you can either choose to be miserable in your worry and fear or be at peace in His presence. And He says in John 14:27 (NASB), “Peace I leave you, My peace I give you; not as the world gives, do I give to you. Do not let your hearts be troubled, nor fearful.” In His presence there is healing, and He tells you to start the journey one day at a time in His presence. It’s not about tomorrow. It’s not about yesterday. It’s about today. Get ready because your breakthrough is coming and that healing you need, that contract you’ve been praying for, that relationship problem solved, is about to happen.
Your prayer can be: “Lord, help me right now to turn it all over to you. Help me to relax and put my total trust in You. I speak to my soul right now. Soul, do not fear, do not worry, for my hope is in You, oh God, my Hope and my Rock and my Protector and my Provider. In Jesus name, Amen.”
