”Wait for the LORD; be strong and let your heart take courage; yes, wait for the LORD.”
Psalm 27:14 NASB
It was Winston Churchill who said this about courage: “Success is not final, failure is not fatal, it is the courage to continue that counts.” Have you had something promised to you? Are you convinced that what God showed you will come to pass? But you have waited and waited and waited and you’re about to give up. You have run the gamut with all kinds of emotions such as joy/sorrow, peace/fear, encouragement/discouragement. It was Ronald Reagan who said, “A leader, once convinced a particular course of action is the right one, must have the determination to stick with it and be undaunted when the going gets tough.” It is at this point you need courage to kick in. Proverbs 4:23 NASB says, “Watch over your heart with all diligence, for from it flow the springs of life.” Let your heart take courage. You are told to guard your heart and your thoughts from those things that will keep you from walking in courage such as fear and anxiety. Discern what you read, watch and listen to and with whom you hang around. You are also encouraged with scripture that says, “For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he.” (Proverbs 23:7 NKJV). Shore up your mind with the Word of God concerning His character. Be reminded of those times in your past when God provided for you. You needed a breakthrough and God came through. You needed financial help and God provided. You needed a healing and God healed you. You were worried and anxious and He filled your soul with His peace. Romans 8 NASB tells us, “If God is for me who can be against me.”
