“Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, the people whom He has chosen for His own inheritance. The LORD looks from heaven; He sees all the sons of men; from His dwelling place He looks out on all the Inhabitants of the earth, He who fashions the hearts of them all, He who understands all their works.”
Psalm 33:12-15 (NASB)
Look specifically at verse 15, “He fashions their hearts individually; He considers all their works.” The same God whose mind and power fashioned the stars, the seas, the animals and all human beings, has carefully, intentionally and individually crafted you. That means you are special, you are unique. No one else has been given exactly the same makeup as God has given you and Psalm 139:13-16 (NASB) says, “For You formed my inward parts; You wove me in my mother’s womb. I will give thanks to You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; wonderful are Your works, and my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from You, when I was made in secret, and skillfully wrought in the depths of the earth; Your eyes have seen my unformed substance; and in Your book were all written the days that were ordained for me, when as yet there was not one of them.” Here it speaks of our Father’s intimate knowledge of each of us. The word “formed” is a word that has to do with ownership. God knows us intimately because He owns us. He is like the inventor who carefully designs and builds a device and then becomes the owner of its patent. The word “covered” means the idea of our personal body and soul being intricately molded and crocheted together in our mother’s womb. It is a process that involves time, skill and craftsmanship. In other words, we are not thrown together but rather God intentionally and masterfully created us in our mother’s womb and works everything together into a whole, according to His will. You are unique. You are valuable, you are awesome.
